Peter
McQuillen, now President of The
Finishing Line, began painting conventionally
in the mid 1980's when he opened a commercial painting
business (Duzmor Painting Inc.) operating from 1986
to 1997.
In 1996, Pete
became seriously interested in powder coating and decided
to buy the property where The
Finishing Line is now located. With
one existing building on site of 2000 square feet, Pete
added another 6000 square foot addition to house large
pieces of powder coating equipment that he moved from
Houston, Texas via freight train.
With limited funds and financing through
the contracting business, one year later and months
of time testing completed, The
Finishing Line was ready for production!
The first high production powder coating system in the
area was born!
The first large production job for The
Finishing Line, Pete
recalls..
"We were contracted to apply 100%
acrylic coating to 300,000 spindles per year for the
Mercury Villager and Nissan
Quest mini vans through the Ford Motor
Company - making The
Finishing Line a
"Tier
One Automotive Supplier"!
Today The
Finishing Line Co. is a 13,500 square
foot facility:
One automated main line, one automated
mini cell system, three batch booth areas, clean room
for intricate masking, plus a preparation room. |
